Here’s the Schedule, Mark Your Calendars for this Management Training Program for 2012:
- February 16th:
Leadership Level 1 – Self-Leadership & Self-Communication: Begin your journey to develop even more effective communication skills with the first session in this online business communication training. Leadership development begins with leaders and managers reinforcing the belief that it begins and ends with self-leadership. Both veteran and novice leaders will learn self-leadership strategies, that include shifts in internal dialogue, and strategies in emotional intelligence that will lead to emotional mastery.
- March 22nd:
Leadership Level 2 – Communicating to Your Team in a Group Setting/Meeting - Every leader must be able to inspire and motivate those that they are charged with leading. All business leaders will have times throughout the year when they must communicate to their team members in a meeting and as such must have the confidence and skills in public speaking and facilitation skills. In this online management training session you will learn specific strategies to help you become a leader that can inspire with confidence and gain buy-in and participation from your audience from in front of any room.
- April 26th:
Leadership Level 3 – Communicating to Motivate 1:1 with Individual Team Members - When it comes to creating a motivating work environment, the most important business leadership skill is being able to address behavior and performance issues, and set the right and most consistent tone by being able to communicate to motivate one-on-one with individual team members. There are precious few online management courses that will give you the specific focus to help you address issues head-on one-on-one promptly, directly and respectfully, that you need to be a trusted and respected leader.
- May 17th:
Critical Communication Skill #1: Specificity - The first of the seven critical and most effective communication skills we will work together on with you when you join us is the power of “specificity.” In this management communication training session you will learn how to communicate specific details without being condescending and disrespectful while ensuring those you communicate will get you what you need, when you need it and how you need it, the first time every time.
- June 21st:
Critical Communication Skill #2: Desirable Behaviors - The second of the seven critical and most effective communication skills we will work together on with you when you join us is understanding some key reasons why some leaders communication fails to obtain the desired behavioral changes when requested. In this management communication training you will learn and practice a specific leadership communication strategy that will focus you and your direct reports on the exact behaviors you expect and need from them so that you get it every time, and when you don’t, you will have a frame of reference to associate to, when holding others accountable to your request.
- July 19th:
Critical Communication Skill #3: Direct & Candid - This month the online leadership training will help you focus on being more direct and candid in your leadership communication style. We will explore the ways leaders and employees avoid being direct and candid with their workplace communication, the reasons why we avoid this direct and candid communication approach, and the costs of doing so. We will also discuss specific ways to transform your leadership communication style so you can be more direct and how to stop enabling employees and team members in your work environment from continuing to engage in gossip and ‘throwing their co-workers under the bus.”
- August 16th:
Critical Communication Skill #4: Immediate & Prompt – No leadership training and development program would be complete without helping leaders end their procrastination in communicating. Many organizational leaders suffer from an “avoid and tolerate” leadership style that kills workplace motivation, morale, engagement and trust. In this month’s online management training session leaders will learn to apply the previous three leadership communication skills from the previous sessions to communicate promptly and respectfully to maintain high levels of trust and productivity and build a reputation of respect for themselves as a leader.
- September 20th:
Critical Communication Skill #5: Proper Tone & Body Language – Effective communication skills require a congruency between words, tone and body language and in this segment of leadership development we will spend time reviewing the importance of tone and body language to ensure the right message is delivered. We will also take a divergent path from most other management communication trainings and debunk a 40-year old myth that body language and tone are more important than words.
- October 18th:
Critical Communication Skill #6: Focused Attention – If there is one critical leadership communication skill that is overlooked it is this one. Too many leaders believe they have to be able to multi-task when communicating, and too many also believe they can be effective in doing so. In this online management training session we will explore the costs of multi-tasking when communicating and discuss specific strategies to provide those with whom you are communicating your focused attention.
- November 15th:
Critical Communication Skill #7: Respectful Re-BUT-als - This may be the leadership communication skill that leaders are most unaware of. The habit of using the word “but” to counter someone else’s point is ubiquitous and is one of the biggest culprits of causing workplace confrontations to escalate into workplace communication conflicts. In the final segment of this business communication skills training we will explore the power and the pain of “yet, but” and offer strategies for breaking through this damaging communication habit.

To your success,

About Leadership & Workplace Communication Expert Skip Weisman
(In His Own Words):
Hi, I’m Skip Weisman. Over and over, I hear the frustration in the voices of organizational leaders that attend my live workshops or send me e-mails with questions on how to effectively lead their teams and create a greater sense of ownership among employees.
Having spent 20-years in professional baseball management, leading teams from 2-200, I look back at my early years as a young leader where I made a lot of avoidable mistakes because I didn’t know what really works and I was too busy putting out fires to figure it out.
When clients come to me, they’re struggling with the exact same mistakes and frustrations…and they don’t have time to figure it all out. They need to know what works, what doesn’t and how to apply the most effective strategies immediately in a way that works for their business. That’s where I come in.
I believe leaders are made, not born. Some people may be more natural leaders than others, and I can tell you from experience, I was one of the unnatural leaders. I had to learn my own way to becoming an effective leader because it did not come innately to me, nor did I come through the ranks with great role models to follow.
Like you, I had to figure it out on my own.
For the past 10-years I have immersed myself in helping organizational leaders improve their approach to organizational leadership to raise the bar on employee morale, employee motivation, employee engagement, teamwork and leadership communication throughout their organization.
In 2009 I began offering my Champion Leadership and Teamwork Strategies in live “in-person” workshops that have led to amazing transformations in program participants and how they approach leading their teams. It’s been so successful I want to make it available to those who need these strategies immediately.
That’s why I am now offering immediate access to these champion leadership and workplace communication strategies in this year-long teleclass series.
And, you are the beneficiary!
